Bridal Shower Theme

by admin on September 29, 2009

Bridal-Shower-ThemeHere are a few bridal shower theme examples from bridalshowersatoz.com.

Bridal Shower Themes (ex.):

Pink Shower

How do you host a pink shower? Just think pink! Ask the guest to wrap their gifts in pink, then choose desserts and beverages that are pink. Throw in pink tablecloths and floral arrangements with pink and white Orchids…and you have a pink shower!

Past to Present Scan 8 different pictures of the bride from birth through current age. Put them together in a collage on one page with a space to guess the year and month they were taken. Each picture is worth 2 points – 1 point for the right year and 1 point for the right month. Plus, guests will love to take the collage of pictures home.

Find The Groom Snip pictures of men from magazines and find one picture of the groom. Before the shower, put each male in a separate pink balloon (one balloon for each guest) making sure one of them has the picture of the groom. At the shower, instruct guests to pop their balloon, and the one with the groom’s picture inside is the winner.

Ice Cream Shower

Perfect for a summer shower, it’s BYO ice cream time! Invite guests to bring their own ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt or gelato and you can supply cones and different sprinkles. Guests get to be creative and enjoy making ice cream cone sundaes while the presents are being unwrapped!

Ocean Shower

Are the bride and groom honeymooning near the ocean? You can make the guests feel like they are “Under the Sea” too…with a few simple decorations. Start with a fisherman’s net on the table and lots of seashells, include plastic removable fish all over the sliding doors to make the room look like an aquarium, top the cake with a boy and girl mermaid, and finish with a buffet of sea food like shrimp, salmon mousse, and crab dip.
Family Ties

Animals group together in families, for example humans group together in a clan. Challenge your guests to name other family groups like fish or whales.

Secret Word Pick a secret word before the shower and write it down. Let guests know whoever is the first to use this secret word is the winner. For example, the secret word might be: beach. If someone asks the bride if she will be spending a lot of time on the beach during her honeymoon, she is the winner.

Wine & Desserts Shower

Simple and elegant, host a wine and desserts shower for the bride and her close friends and relatives. Black and burgundy make a great color scheme for this shower – and don’t forget a bouquet of white roses for the centerpiece.
Name That Wedding Cake

List 20 different types of cakes in one column, and have guests try to match clues to all the different cakes from the second column. Just what is the opposite of a tall cake, anyway?
Word Scramble

A classic word scramble with a wedding theme, scramble 20 different wedding related words and have your guests try to unscramble them.

Candlelight Shower

This sentimental shower is for a small group…turn out the lights and host the shower by candlelight. A candlelight dinner would be especially nice, but candles on the cake and a basket of candles with this poem is essential…

A Basket of Candles For [insert Bride's name] A basket of candles that come in a pair
In all different colors, for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company, you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night.
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine’s Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through
The cream anniversary pair, will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you’d put these away
Take the light blue ones out-for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left – for the big 2 5
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations [insert Bride and Groom's names]
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don’t forget-blow them out before bed!

Bridal Shower Poems For Invitations

bridal-bouqet-and-wedding-bridal-showerBridal Shower Poems For Invitations

Here is an example of a bridal shower poem that would totally make the difference at the shower:

Bridal Shower Poem Example

Dear Betsy Barron,
Known to all as “Brie,”
We celebrate your wedding,
And no one’s happier than me!

This lovely bridal shower
Is really cause for rave.
Joy today, from all of us,
And soon…a marriage to Dave!

We’re overjoyed for sure,
That Dave and Brie are one.
Brie is just the best,
Really loads of fun.

She always makes me laugh,
Helps in every way.
Brie is oh-so-special,
What more can I say?

She’s honest to a “T,”
Always pulling through.
Got something to get done?
Brie can surely do!

I remember one great time,
A new assistant interview.
Brie called me, laughing hard,
Just guess what did ensue!

She said come up, ASAP,
This you gotta see!
I did — I saw a lovely girl…
With a lovely…well…goatee.

Diversity is one thing,
But this was off the beam.
We made it through the interview,
And we “took one for the team.”

As Brie can always confirm,
The Fish Market is our favorite place.
We go for special occasions,
A smile on every face.

Brie loves to make her quilts,
For one and all, for sure.
Her Santa Claus quilts are special,
So are her baby quilts galore.

She’s the Queen of our Christmas parties,
Plans them with great flair.
Count on Brie most ever time,
For things extraordinaire.

Friendship radiates from her,
From her boundless heart.
A loving mom and grandma, too,
She’ll always take Gracie’s part.

I’m just so happy for her,
Dave’s the greatest guy.
That they found each other,
Brings a happy tear to my eye.

This celebration’s special,
They’re a couple just so great.
And Brie, as I keep saying,
Is a friend who’s so first rate.

With wishes for true happiness,
As expansive as the stars above.
May your life be filled with joy and peace,
And always, heartfelt love.

Love,

Kate

Bridal Shower Game – The Price is Right

by admin on July 26, 2009

Bridal Shower Game – The Price is Right

Purchase ten household items such as cleaners, polishes, detergents, soaps, cloths etc. Alternatively you could make a list of these items with the correct price, although it is more interesting if the items are on show. The guests have to guess what the total price is of all these items and write this down on a notepad.

This game could be particularly suitable for the Room of the House or the Kitchen theme showers. The person who gets nearest to the correct total is the winner.
You could also extend the game by having people guess the cost of individual items or pairs of items. This game can be played by the guests individually or in teams.

Bridal Shower Game Idea: Who am I?

by admin on June 19, 2009

Who Am I? | Bridal Shower Game Idea

A perfect way to start a shower. Prepare ahead of time by writing the name of a famous person, singer, actor/actress on a 3×5 index card or piece of paper. As each guest arrives pin one of the “tags” on her back without her knowing her “secret identity”. The task is for the guest to find out who she is by asking others questions which can only be answered with a yes or no. This is a great way for guests to get mingling right away so they can learn who they are. First one to learn their identity is the winner. You may want to lengthen the game by offering 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

Bridal Shower Purse Game

The Bridal Shower Purse Game is a fun game that costs nothing at all, and it is a fun way to compete for points among one another. Have everyone take out their purses. A ranked number list is made from 1-20. Beside each number, a typical purse item is placed based on how predictable it is for that item to be inside the purse. For example, number 1. might be your keys, number 3. might be a chapstick, number 5. might be a pack of gum and number 10. may be a wallet with more than 15 credit cards. After the list is made, each woman empties her purse and tallies up what she has based on the number ranking. The woman with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Not all that long ago, a couple getting married while the bride was pregnant would receive a stream of negative reactions. Now that sex before marriage is no longer a taboo, and many people choose never to get married at all, you would think that getting married while expecting a baby is no longer a big deal. Are there still stigmas attached to pregnant brides in this day and age?

The answer is, somewhat surprisingly, yes. It is not necessary to move around in overly conservative or religious circles to notice that pregnant brides still face plenty of prejudices. What are the stigmas that still come with having a so-called “shotgun wedding”? An internet search reveals that many people still don’t think getting married while pregnant is the proper way of doing things, though the concerns might be related more to fashion and being able to enjoy your wedding reception when suffering from pregnancy signs and symptoms than to not being a virgin on your big day.

Let’s have a look at the Top Five of opinions about getting married with a little one on the way, along with the reasons why they really make no sense.

“A wedding dress with a baby bump? Not a good look!” Many people, especially women, think that wedding dresses and pregnant bellies do not go together. Presumably that is because the traditional expectation was to first get married, and only then start trying to conceive.
“It is fine, as long as the bride doesn’t wear a white dress.” Because white dresses are the privilege of virgins? The same people who think that the wedding dress should not be white if the bride is “with child” think that the wedding should be a small and casual affair. Of course, it is very obvious that the bride is not a virgin if she is pregnant. In this day and age, hardly anyone “saves themselves” until marriage. Should everyone else be banned from wearing white, too?
“It is tacky to get hitched when pregnant” is still a pretty common opinion. Why? Because sex before marriage is tacky?
“The couple should wait until after the baby gets there to get married.” This opinion is closely related to the first three, but seems to be more about fashion than anything else. However, getting married before the birth of your baby could save a lot of money and make getting the father on the birth certificate a lot easier. If you really want to tie the knot anyway, why not do it before your baby arrives to make your life a lot easier as well?
“One should first get married, and then start trying to conceive.” Even if that was your original plan, too, life sometimes changes our schedule around a little bit. On the upside, if you say “I do” when you are expecting, you will not have to worry about using an ovulation calendar and timing your intercourse at the beginning of your marriage!
